It is with the tenderness of our hearts that  conveys these words about the beloved Reverend Sarah Anderson.  We are hoping that this annual soiree' in her honer will, in some degree, provide cheer.

The passing of Reverend Anderson was the will of God, and yet, there was a human tie that was broken that we shared with her family. Reverend Anderson was a resident of Sumpter Township and was active in the township and neighboring towns for years.  She gave back to the community, volunteered in many local programs, and was a positive role model for children and residents. She often expressed her love for the township and how proud she felt to give back.

Reverend Anderson was a community champion. She worked hard and well to start and/or support an initiative or intervention, to bring a program or idea to reality, or to otherwise improve the quality of life of a particular group or of the community as a whole.  She was a true community hero - an inspired visionary who was always willing to do whatever had to be done to keep things going. We honor the remarkable contributions Reverend Anderson made to the progress in our community and each year we honor a servant leader that exemplifies her.

SOOAR’ mission is to implement leadership strategies that encourage, enlighten, and empower individuals, families, and communities stimulating positive personal change which leads to more productive lives. We are dedicated to carrying on Reverend Anderson ideals to help at-risk, low income, academically challenged youth and their families identify limiting beliefs and outmoded coping mechanisms that may be standing in the way of having a more rewarding home, life, or career through substance abuse prevention services and life skills coaching.

While the board and the director are dedicated to administering the agency’s funds, please understand that we know none of this would be possible without your generosity and support.  We depend on your patronage to carry out our mission and to grow the agency so that it can be sustained for years to come.  So as we celebrate Reverend Anderson, we also celebrate you, our supporters, and ask that you continue to help us attain our vision to be the most valued agency through continuous improvement, integrity, and small everyday actions that can add up to a big difference for the individuals, families, and communities we serve.

Coming soon, 2018 Soiree information. We hope to see you there!
